Directions to the Division of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery located in the Falk Building

The Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery is located in the Falk Building located behind the hospital on the Stanford campus in Palo Alto, California. San Francisco is to the north, and San Jose is to the south. Two main north-south freeways link us to San Francisco, San Jose, and their airports: US Highway 101 and Interstate 280. Shuttle and bus service to Stanford is available from nearby airports. A commuter rail line, Caltrain, also connects the Peninsula. Stanford's free Marguerite Shuttle connects with Caltrain and downtown Palo Alto.

Parking

All driving directions below will guide you to the paid visitor and patient parking garage in front of Stanford Hospital on Blake Wilbur Drive (and then provide walking directions to the Falk Building). Parking is free for the first 45 minutes. Parking for up to 6 hours costs $6; more than 6 hours and up to 24 hours will be $12.

Highway 101

Take the University Avenue exit West (toward Palo Alto / Stanford). As you enter the gates to Stanford, University Avenue changes names to Palm Drive. Continue on Palm Drive to the traffic light at Arboretum Road. Turn RIGHT on Arboretum. Continue until Arboretum deadends at Sand Hill Road Road and turn left.

Go left at the next light, which is Pasteur Drive, and drive to Blake Wilbur.

Turn left on Blake Wilbur, and park in the two-story pay-parking structure on the right nearest the hospital (Parking is free for the first 45 minutes. Parking for up to 6 hours costs $6; more than 6 hours and up to 24 hours will be $12.).

Walk to the exit on the hospital side of the entrance of the garage.

Enter hospital through double doors at end of walkway. Turn left, then make a quick right through the cafeteria eating area. Once outside of the eating area, there’s a hallway that goes left.

Walk down this hallway all the way to the end, and you will find several doors to your right that lead to the outside.

Go through these doors, make a left on the path, then the first right into the Cardiovascular Research Building (CRVC, also known as the Falk Building).

Highway 280

Take the Sand Hill Road exit to the east (toward Palo Alto / Stanford). You'll go through several stop lights and through a major intersection at Santa Cruz Ave/Alpine Road. When you come to Pasteur Drive, turn right, and drive to Blake Wilbur.

Turn left on Blake Wilbur, and park in the two-story pay-parking structure on the right nearest the hospital (Parking is free for the first 45 minutes. Parking for up to 6 hours costs $6; more than 6 hours and up to 24 hours will be $12.).

El Camino (North or South)

On CalTrain

Get off at the University and Alma Street station (downtown Palo Alto).

After departing the train, pick up the free shuttle (red & white bus) called the Marguerite Line A.

It will take you right to the medical center. Depart the bus at the Emergency Room drop off.

Enter hospital at the Emergency Room entrance.

Turn right and walk all the way to the end of the hallway.

At the end of the hallway, you will find several doors to your right that lead to the outside.

Go through these doors, make a left on the path, then the first right into the Cardiovascular Research Building (CRVC, also known as the Falk Building).
